Survey: Bigger hospitals are more likely to hire CMIOs

Many organizations are realizing the benefits of adding a chief medical information officer to their IT teams, with one survey showing that 55% of HIT leaders report their groups having both a CMIO and a CIO. One 13-hospital system, Texas Health Resources, even added a chief nursing information officer to its ranks.
