DCs, warehouse managers look to shrink operating costs

Nearly all warehouse and distribution center managers are trying to reduce operating costs, according to a survey by Logistics Management. Seventy-seven percent of respondents said they were "improving warehouse processes," and a majority said they were working on "improving inventory control." More than 40% of respondents said they are cutting their staffing levels, compared to the 36% who said they were using that strategy in 2010.
