Federal report finds EHRs help improve patient care

A Government Accountability Office report found that using electronic health records helped integrated delivery systems raise the quality of care for underserved patients. Officials with the 15 surveyed public and private groups said the technology proved helpful in enhancing physician and patient communication as well as increasing access to patient and clinical data.
