Microsoft's print campaign for the Windows 8 operating system includes an extensive play with Conde Nast in which 14 magazine covers will be styled as the Windows 8 "Start" screens of the magazines' top editors. A Conde Nast rep says the covers are not paid ads, but are intended to coordinate with inside ads and the magazines' own Windows 8 content. Media agency Starcom MediaVest Group called it a "groundbreaking multifaceted paid program with nonpaid elements."
