"Regulatory certainty" for shale drilling in Pa. is needed, state official says

Pennsylvania is on its way to becoming an "American energy superpower" with its Marcellus Shale natural gas reserves, said Michael Krancer, secretary of the state's Department of Environmental Protection. The state needs to amend its policies to help sustain the drilling industry's competitiveness, Krancer said. "We need regulatory certainty, we need regulatory reform, and we need a fair and predictable time for permitting," he said.
