Tech companies trying to engage younger customers in conversation

Tech companies including PC maker Dell and storage equipment manufacturer NetApp Inc. apparently are increasingly viewing social media, including Facebook, outside blogs and viral video, as a more effective means to tap younger prospective customers than traditional TV and print ads, per this article. "This is 180 degrees from [conventional] advertising," said eMarketer senior analyst Debra Aho Williamson. "Having a conversation with them [consumers] is a very new skill."
