Guidelines call for better organized coronary care

Hospitals and communities need an organized system of emergency care to effectively treat patients with coronary disease, according to new guidelines developed by several medical groups. The recommendations called for programs to identify patients before they get to hospitals and strategies to get them to medical centers able to perform artery-opening procedures.
