Aging adults should ease into new workouts, experts say

Physicians say baby boomers should ease into an exercise routine to allow their bodies to get used to new stresses and muscle aches. The recommendation that people do both aerobic and weight-bearing exercises applies, but Dr. Christopher Geary of Tufts Medical Center says older adults should first begin with low-impact workouts, leaving the heavy-duty running and weight lifting for later.
