Major retailers take French sign order to court

Retail chains including Wal-Mart, Costco and Best Buy are expected to appear in a Quebec court on Thursday to challenge an order by the Office Quebecois de la Langue Francaise. The retailers are asking the court to determine whether the agency has the right to enforce an order that the stores amend their signage to include either a generic French name or descriptive slogan in French.
