Subcutaneous nodules in RA can predict cardiovascular risk

Rheumatoid arthritis patients with subcutaneous nodules were 44% more likely to suffer from a cardiovascular disease than those without nodules, according to a study presented at the American College of Rheumatology's 2012 meeting. Women had a higher increase in cardiovascular risk with age than men, researchers said.
