Vacation-home owners face challenges in getting FEMA aid

Vacation homes affected by Hurricane Sandy and its remnants are not qualified to receive aid under the Federal Emergency Management Agency's grant program, officials said. The program is for "people who have taken a hit to their necessities and they are not covered by insurance," FEMA spokesman Bill Rukeyser said. Vacation-home owners may be able to get low-interest loans, however, if their properties were used for rentals or another business purpose, according to this article.
