Broin to build first U.S. cellulosic ethanol plant

Broin Cos. of South Dakota said it will build the nation's first commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol plant, which will use corn stalks and leaves, in Iowa. The firm said it will spend about $200 million to expand the capacity of an existing plant now producing 50 million gallons of ethanol by another 75 million gallons.
