Ill. county funds community wellness initiatives

The We Choose Health program, established by the McLean County Health Department, offered more than $80,000 in grants to area schools and businesses in an effort to reduce obesity, tobacco use and chronic disease. Funds will be used to develop wellness programs, purchase exercise equipment, implement a breast-feeding policy and lactation rooms, and establish smoking cessation programs, among other initiatives.
