Research considers omega-3s' use as suicide prevention tool

The Department of Veterans Affairs has teamed up with the Pentagon and scientists at the National Institutes of Health for a three-year study to examine whether omega-3 fatty acids can help lower depression and suicidal thoughts. Omega-3s already enjoy popularity as a treatment for heart disease, anxiety and attention deficit disorder.
