University trains PAs to assess oral health

Students enrolled in Colorado University's physician assistant program are being trained to spot oral health problems such as periodontitis using a curriculum supported, in part, by the National Interprofessional Initiative on Oral Health. Less than one-quarter of medical programs across the country offer some form of broad oral-health education.
