Wright Medical boosts foot and ankle footprint with BioMimetic buy

Wright Medical has agreed to acquire BioMimetic Therapeutics for $190 million upfront, plus as much as $190 million in payments contingent on the performance of BioMimetic's Augment bone graft tool. The deal, set to be finalized during the first quarter of next year, in part will allow Wright Medical to substantially expand its foot and ankle business, CEO Robert Palmisano said.
