Md. city reinvents downtown with local businesses, Italian twist

Sections of Maryland's Rockville Town Square, a downtown development project modeled after classic Italian piazzas, are slated to open this winter and spring. "No matter how big we get, we'll need the presence of homegrown enterprises in order to retain our unique identity," says Art Chambers, director of community planning and development services. "This new development isn't about creating just another 'Anyplace U.S.A.'"
