Small-business hiring may be signaling a turnaround:

One positive sign from the National Federation of Independent Business' monthly optimism report: Small businesses weren't cutting jobs. The average employment change per company in October was zero, meaning firms neither added nor reduced jobs, a turnaround from prior months. That figure has only been positive twice since April 2007.
