Ecotricity to bring green gas to U.K. customers

Homeowners in the United Kingdom will soon have the option of heating their homes and cooking with biogas, a green alternative to natural gas. The not-for-profit energy company Ecotricity is offering a fuel mixture that combines conventional fossil fuel-based gas and biogas derived from methane generated by decomposing food and animal waste. The new gas burns cleaner, but it also helps wean the country off natural gas, more than half of which is currently imported.
