It’s been a busy month for ed-tech solution providers – lots of interesting new products, tools and services for schools and classrooms. Here’s a quick look at our top picks for November:

SGAP app. The hands-down most popular new release this month came from the Student Governmental Affairs Program — its new SGAP app. Available at no charge for Android and iOS devices, the app aims to helphigh-school students to learn more about their government system. Students can use the app to learn more about their elected officials, engage in discussion with other learners, and earn points by participating in civic activities.

Hack Your Teaching. This short 1:30 video, from Edvantage outlines five quick tips for infusing energy into the classroom. Tune in to hear how members of Edvantage’s faculty editorial board use visuals, memorable stories, humor and other devices to grab student attention and jump start classroom discussion.

TeacherCoach. This new online community takes a unique approach to teacher training. TeacherCoach aims to address the needs of the whole person — personal growth as well as professional development. Teachers can take courses and get coaching on everything from managing their families and relationships to managing their students and classrooms.

High School Test Prep. Odysseyware launched its new test prep courses for high-school students. The courses, designed to create individualized learning plans for each student, include review and practice drills as well as study tips and review videos. The program is geared for students taking the GED, ACT, HiSET and TASC Test Assessing Secondary Completion.

BrightLink 536Wi. Epson released its new LCD-based short-throw projector, the BrightLink 536Wi, designed to turn walls and whiteboards into interactive displays. The unit features WXGA resolution (1,280 x 800) and a brightness rating of 3,400. The projector comes with device management software that enables an instructor to connect up to 50 devices, wirelessly, from laptops as well as Apple and Android mobile devices.
