CMS picks 3 groups for data exchange initiative

The CMS has selected the Kansas City Quality Improvement Consortium, the Health Improvement Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati and the Oregon Health Care Quality Corp. to be the first groups to participate in the agency's Medicare data-sharing initiative. The data exchange program offers HHS-certified organizations Medicare claims information, which can be used to assess the performance of providers.
