Green roof to help curb stormwater runoff at Milwaukee property

An intensive green roof and a rain garden have been installed at a residential property in Milwaukee in a bid to divert stormwater runoff from the city's sanitary and sewer systems. The roof is expected to store over 1,500 gallons of stormwater, and will have various kinds of plants and a tree. The project is the first multi-stage rain capture system in the area, and has gained the support of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
