Wind-energy backers oppose proposed wind-power freeze in Vt.

A proposal to impose a three-year freeze on ridgeline wind projects in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom region would drive away investors, said wind-power advocates. The proposed moratorium "is unnecessary" and would send "a clear signal to investors in clean energy in Vermont that it's not a safe and reasonable place to make those investments," said Jack Kenworthy of Seneca Mountain Wind, which is developing a 40-turbine project in the area.
