Draft USPSTF recommendation urges hepatitis C screening for all high-risk adults

In a draft recommendation, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force on Monday updated its 2004 statement and is urging hepatitis C screening for all high-risk adults. The draft also asked primary care physicians to consider hepatitis C screening for adults born between 1945 and 1965, and said those with a history of IV drug use or blood transfusion prior to 1992 should be tested.
