Some drillers voluntarily list fracking chemicals

North Dakota's Department of Mineral Resources is looking to require shale drillers to disclose hydraulic fracturing chemicals on the FracFocus Chemical Disclosure Registry beginning in April, but some companies are already making disclosures. ExxonMobil and unit XTO Energy are among the companies listing fracking chemicals on the FracFocus website. "We believe this is an excellent step forward," an XTO spokesman said.
