Study: Diffusion tensor imaging helpful in mild TBI

High fractional anisotropy seen on diffusion tensor imaging may indicate patients will have better outcomes after a traumatic brain injury, according to research presented at the Radiological Society of North America annual meeting. Dr. Max Wintermark of the University of Virginia commented that DTI potentially could be used to monitor TBI patients and help guide their rehabilitation.
