Australian state's teachers oppose new curriculum

Plans for a national curriculum in Australia seem to have stalled, with many head teachers in New South Wales saying it was rushed and inadequate. A vote by state and territory leaders on the curriculum is expected on 8 Dec., but NSW Education Minister Verity Firth says she is likely to reject the plan. The plan includes standard English, history, maths and science curricula for students in kindergarten to year 10.
