DISH, DIRECTV weigh in ahead of FCC's Dec. 13 vote on CALM Act

The Federal Communications Commission will vote Dec. 13 on rules for implementing legislation that requires satellite providers, broadcasters and other multichannel distributors to keep the volume of commercials at the same level as that of the programs leading into and out of them. DIRECTV and DISH Network have asked the FCC to make clear that its CALM Act orders will not interfere with their practice of raising the volume on entire channels.
