UC Davis Olive Center quickly becomes an industry player

The University of California at Davis Olive Center has quickly turned the olive oil industry on its ear with two studies on the purity of oil labeled extra virgin. The center was created by the school as a way to deal with the olive trees on campus. The center, which started with $25,000 a year, has raised $1.7 million in research funding.
