Dallas museum's design, precast elements redefine architecture

Thom Mayne and Morphosis Architects' design work for the $185 million Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas has raised the bar for architectural splendor in the region, writes Scott Cantrell. Precast concrete panels were joined at alternating angles for the 180,000 square-foot building. "Up close, their subtly chiseled and lipped striations are genuinely beautiful," Cantrell writes.
