In Kansas City, Mo., many students need more homework

Homework experts say a disparity in both the quality and quantity of homework given to more affluent, suburban children and that assigned to poor, inner-city kids is fueling the achievement gap. Duke University Professor Harris Cooper says teachers of urban children often give up on assigning homework because the kids simply won't do it.
