Nintendo hopes to maintain momentum in holiday sales

Nintendo sold more than 500,000 Wii game consoles on Black Friday, and the company hopes it can keep up the momentum throughout the holiday sales season, which usually accounts for 60% of its annual revenue. Wal-Mart Stores sold out of a limited-edition blue Wii console it offered for about $100 on Black Friday, said Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America. Meanwhile, Microsoft said it sold nearly 1 million Xbox 360 consoles in the U.S. last week, the best sales week in the product line's history.
