EEOC issues guidelines on workplace language policies

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has announced guidelines for when employers are allowed to enforce English-only policies and when foreign accents can factor into promotion decisions. The agency cited several lawsuits in which workers said they were discriminated against for their language ability.
