Legislator warns VA to expect more oversight

The House Committee on Veterans Affairs held a hearing Wednesday in which Department of Veterans Affairs officials were harshly criticized for travel and conference spending and for the department's record number of backlogged claims. The hearing concluded with committee chairman Jeff Miller, R-Fla., issuing a warning to VA leadership: "The truce is over. ... Expect much more oversight from this committee."
