N.J. company provides an alternative to kennel stays

Buddy's Sleepovers and Playdates, founded by Howard and Marilyn Beutel, is building a network in New Jersey of host families who take care of pets while the owners are away. So far, 80 families have signed on to take in pets including dogs, cats, parrots and ferrets. According to APPA, boarding ranks behind surgical vet visits and ahead of food costs for the biggest annual expense for dog owners.
