Expansion plans of Mass. schools part of $2B area development

Construction worth an estimated $2 billion is currently under way in Boston and Cambridge, Mass. Boston’s Berklee College of Music has broken ground on a $100 million, 16-story building that will employ 300 union construction workers. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is finalizing plans for $700 million worth of work that will include eight new buildings. Meanwhile, work on about 5 million square feet of labs and offices in the area is ongoing.
