Black-hat search engine optimization practitioners are the bad guys, but that doesn't mean marketers should ignore them, writes Marios Alexandrou. For better or worse, black-hat types are on the cutting edge of SEO, so it's worth keeping tabs on the tools and methods they're using. "Black hat tactics are often just white hat tactics taken to the extreme. If I can identify the core white tactic, then I should keep it for future use," Alexandrou writes.
