Experts review foods that promote digestive health

Even nutrients that aren't absorbed by the body can be good for it, says gastroenterologist Dr. Matthew L. Bechtold, referring to the cleansing action of fiber, which registered dietitian Kristi King says can ease digestion. Good choices include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, water, ginger and yogurt. The worst choices are spicy or high-fat foods, caffeine, soda, alcohol and dairy.
