NuVasive faces setback over reimbursement of surgical procedure

Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealth Group will not pay surgeons who use NuVasive's XLIF spinal surgery after they classified the procedure as "experimental." NuVasive said it is working to reverse the health insurers' recommendation, and doctors are still receiving payments at local and regional levels.
