N.J. casino commissioner questions gaming reforms

An outgoing member of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission criticized the state Legislature for a proposal to redistribute responsibility for gaming enforcement. The reforms would strip the commission of most of its power and grant more authority to the head of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. "I think that would be a dangerous process to be set, to have so much power in the hands of a single individual," said William T. Sommeling, whose last day at the commission is Friday.
