Official: W.Va. shale potential depends on legislature, cracker

Shale-gas drilling holds tremendous potential for West Virginia, but that could be altered by legislative action or news on an ethane cracker, said West Virginia University Bureau of Business and Economic Research Director Tom Witt. "There could be upwards of an additional 20,000 jobs created over the next three to five years that could be associated with [legislative action]," Witt said.
