U.S. companies oppose PCAOB proposal for auditor rotations

U.S. companies aren't in favor of a rule requiring the mandatory rotation of auditors, according to a sampling of comments sent to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Finance executives say the requirement wouldn't improve auditors' performance and would lead to higher costs for clients. European regulators issued a proposal this week to require companies to switch auditors periodically.
