Florida NP lobby for expanded authority packs more power

Florida nurse practitioners will have extra support in their efforts to lobby for the authority to prescribe controlled substances when the new legislative session starts in March. A recent state Senate report recommended giving NPs the expanded authority, and state Sen. Mike Bennett plans to introduce a bill on the issue. In addition, health reform has put an added emphasis on expanded access to care.
