Credit market thaw is not enough for some companies

A number of corporations filed for bankruptcy in November, despite the improvement in credit markets. They include Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the movie studio; CB Holding, a restaurant firm; and Local Insight Media Holdings, publisher of the Yellow Pages. Credit availability for companies large and small has rebounded, but many companies remain saddled with debt and face further refinancing or restructuring.
