The holiday season is off to a good start, reports the International Council of Shopping Centers, with November sales 5.8% higher than the same period last year. It was a pleasant surprise from the 2% to 3% growth the ICSC originally expected, said spokesman Malachy Kavanagh. That said, he warned that the season is not over and consumers are still very cautious. It is possible that the November sales could "cannibalize" December sales, he said.
