Unemployment rate drops to 8.6%, Labor Department reports

Employers added 120,000 jobs in November, bringing the unemployment rate down to 8.6% -- the lowest percentage since March 2009, the Labor Department reports. The drop was partly attributed to the estimated 315,000 unemployed people who stopped looking for jobs and therefore weren't factored into the jobless rate.
