Calif. tribe gets approval to build off-reservation casino

The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians has cleared a hurdle to its plan to build an off-reservation casino in Madera County, Calif., with the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs' agreeing to put the land in trust. "This decision brings our tribe one step closer to realizing our generations-long dream of helping our people and our community," Tribal Chairwoman Elaine Bethel Fink said.
