New CNN chief to look beyond hard news for network's identity

CNN, under new chief Jeff Zucker, will remain nonpartisan while looking for ways to broaden its appeal when it's not election night or there isn't breaking news. Among Zucker's plans: competing with any network that offers "nonfiction programming"; rethinking its morning strategy; and figuring out how to handle the late-night time slot.
