Samsung claims advance for lower-power memory chip

Samsung said it has produced a processor that could speed up smartphone and tablet applications. The electronics company described its 4-gigabit LPDDR2 DRAM chip that it said can transfer information on a par with PC memory processors, adding that new data-intensive applications such as video have created a strong demand for faster memory chips.
