Flywheels could scale down, produce energy for hybrids

Flywheels are huge, heavy wheels that store energy by spinning rapidly, and new materials are allowing designers to shrink the devices to such a degree that they could soon be used in motor vehicles. That would double the efficiency of the regenerative braking used by hybrid autos, according to this article.
